Thriving on Stress 11-(2) “MAKE IT A HABIT” in MAKE IT A HABIT by NAVY Stress Management

11. MAKE IT  A HABIT

(2) MAKE IT A HABIT

* I know there are many things I should do that are good for me, but I just can’t find the time to do them!

* Time is limited and there is not always time to do more; however, there is usually time to do what you are doing already better.

Managing stress is about doing a better job with the stress and strain that you already experience. Don’t look to manage stress by doing something extra. Sometimes it is not finding a new piece of the puzzle that solves problems. Rather it is creating the right perspective that allows that pieces to come together.

That involves getting better at just being yourself and living life to the fullest.

We all choose how we respond. Sometimes we forget that how we respond is our choice. Successful stress management requires that we own up to the fact that each response really is a choice! The key then is not making additional choices, but developing the habit of choosing more successfully.
