Sacred Text: Psalm 87

1. Silencio – Entering the Stillness

I quietly sit on my chair. I breathe deeply—three slow breaths— drawing stillness into my body, peace into my soul. Then, I whisper: “Oh, come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!” (Psalm 95:1)

In my imagination, I walk a quiet mountain path— each step leads upward, toward the summit of stillness.

I enter the sacred space within.

2. Lectio – Reading the Word

I read Psalm 87 in a few different translations. I listen—not just with my ears, but with my heart. “The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.” (Psalm 87:2)

“Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God.” (Psalm 87:3)

“All my springs are in you.” (Psalm 87:7)

3. Meditatio – Reflecting on the Word

Zion—God’s foundation, His home among us. This is not only a city, but a source. A birthplace of new life.

In Zion, all things begin. From it flow springs of joy, hope, and renewal.

My source is You, Lord.

All my springs are in You.

4. Oratio – Responding in Prayer

Lord, You make Your dwelling with us— not only in sacred buildings, but in the living sanctuary of hearts.

You call the broken, the weary, the sin-sick.

You declare:

“Go, your sins are forgiven.”

You gather us into the Church, not just to worship, but to be transformed. Like Aaron’s rod, once a lifeless stick,

You shape us into instruments of purpose—strong, enduring, full of resurrection power.

You birth new souls in Your Church.

You polish and perfect them. And You delight in what You see — endless possibilities.

5. Contemplatio – Resting in God

Now, I walk into the Holy of Holies—no words, no thoughts.

Only presence.

Only breath.

I see an image: a peaceful CruiseShip, floating under the bright sun on a glacier-fed lake.

This is Your peace.

This is Your joy.

Jesus, You are the source of my life.

6. Incarnatio – Living the Word

As I rise from prayer,

I remember:

The Church is not a building—It is where people are born into God. It is where we detach from the world, and attach ourselves to Christ. It is where truth lives, where heaven touches earth.

Today, Lord, let me live as one who has been born from Zion—a child of springs that never run dry.

“All my springs are in You.” (Psalm 87:7)
